Welcome to McCarter! It is an honor to serve as your principal. This is my 8th at McCarter and my 14th year in education. I've spent my entire career in the Topeka Public Schools district as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and head principal. I love working for our amazing district where I truly believe we inspire excellence for a lifetime.

I'm a lifelong Topekan. I completed my Bachelor's Degree at Washburn University in elementary education, early childhood education, and early childhood special education. From there I went on to teach for six years but knew I needed to complete my calling. I began my Master's Degree at Baker University in educational leadership and graduated in December of 2016.

I am delighted to be the assistant principal at McCarter Elementary! This will be my 13th year in education, 7th year at McCarter, and my 2nd year as assistant principal. Prior to my role in administration, I taught 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades and was an instructional coach aiding in our school improvement. While I miss having my own class of students, I thoroughly enjoy getting to create meaningful relationships with all of the kiddos here along with their families.
